Mediterranean Encounters traverses the Arab-Andalusian past as carried by Jews and Muslims into North Africa. With songs performed in Hebrew, Arabic, Spanish, and Ladino, this world-renowned ensemble draws upon a rich intercultural mix of Hebraic and Islamic traditions from North Africa and the Middle East while delving into Andalusian and Maqam-based musical dialects, to create an exhilarating and enlightening musical experience.
